The as yet unbroken triumphant history of plastics started in the 1950s. Mitras Materials was part of this success almost from day one: the first THERMODET® sheets were extruded in 1957 under the roof of DETAG. After it was taken over by Flachglas AG in 1970, the legally autonomous company Mitras Kunststoffe GmbH was established in 1989, from which today’s Mitras Materials GmbH was split off in 1998 as an independent company. Mitras Materials GmbH is a modern, medium-sized industrial firm in the plastic sheet extrusion sector with an excellent image and presence in the European market.
We develop, manufacture and sell thermoplastic semi-finished parts in the form of plastic sheets. For more than five decades our technical know-how as well as our products have symbolised clever solutions to problems in applications with demanding technical requirements as well as high quality under the brand name of THERMODET®.
Our customers from plastics processing throughout Europe take our thermoplastic multi-layer sheets to produce technically sophisticated plastic components using the thermoform or vacuum moulding method. In their specific market niche Mitras Materials is one of the leading sheet extrusion companies in Europe with the experience of more than 50 years. Interior and exterior panels of automobiles or utility vehicles, in the caravan and leisure industry or in storage and transport logistics.
